For the twelfth year in a row, the Animal Friends Association has been educating the public about the importance of switching to a plant-based nutrition, which directly saves animals' lives, prevents massive pollution of the planet, and foster the health and longevity of life. This year, the 12th ZeGeVege festival will be held on Friday, September 6th, from 8 am to 9 pm and on Saturday, September 7th, from 8 am to 8 pm in the center of Zagreb on Ban Josip Jelačić Square. In those two days of the festival, we expect more than 50,000 visitors who will be able to find a wide range of vegan products at the stands of domestic and foreign exhibitors.

At this year’s ZeGeVege festival, everyone will be able to find something for themselves. Several vegan restaurants will cater for fine-and-healthy-food lovers, and some will even have a vegan 'junk food' to suit just about everyone. Decorative cosmetics lovers will be able to complement their makeup collection by purchasing cruelty-free cosmetic products that are also completely vegan. A wide range of vegan-themed books will be available to all book lovers, including animal rights reading books, various manuals, vegan cookbooks, health books, children's stories and much more. Since ZeGeVege has an educational character, this year as well, on our 12th ZeGeVege festival, we will have a variety of interesting and educational workshops and lectures where visitors can learn a lot about veganism and a compassionate way of living. A positively crazy atmosphere at ZeGeVege will be provided by numerous performers who support sustainable livelihood and animal rights - they will dance and entertain visitors throughout the day; and in addition to good music, the stage will also echo with ethical, environmental and health facts about the benefits of veganism for all inhabitants of the planet Earth. In addition, some other reasons for visiting the ZeGeVege festival are various tastings of vegan delicacies, promotional sales, children’s corner, prize games…

This unique festival in Croatia, and the largest of its kind in the region – which exclusively exhibits and promotes products of plant origin, promotes sustainable living, that is, a way of living that allows long-term survival of plant and animal species, biodiversity, natural balance and peaceful coexistence of all living beings on the planet.

The ZeGeVege Festival is part of the international Veganmania event which is held in Vienna, Munich, and 15 other European cities. This event is interesting, fun and educational, and with its rich content, workshops, lectures, domestic and foreign exhibitors, it promotes the increasingly necessary sustainable lifestyle and vegan ethics.

The sponsors of the 12th ZeGeVege festival are President Kolinda Grabar - Kitarović, Croatian Parliament - Office of the President, City of Zagreb and Mayor Milan Bandić, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy, Croatian Chamber of Economy - Tourism Sector and Teaching Institute for Public Health Dr. Andrija Štampar, while the support for the ZeGeVege festival was given by the City Office for Agriculture and Forestry and the Zagreb Tourist Board.
