We invite you on Thursday, June 30, 2005, to the press conference that will be held at the Zagreb Shelter for Abandoned Animals in Dumovec. The conference will start at 10:30 A.M.
The press conference will be held by representatives of the City office, City Shelter, and organizations Noah's Ark and Animal Friends, and there will be an intoduction of a program from July 2-9, 2005, and introduction of posters and other printed materials.
The press conference will also be attended by Maja Vucic, who is posing with her dog on a billboard made by Animal Friends. The billboard is made in cooperation with Cro-A-Porter, and with a clear message conveyed in the title "Don't Leave Me" it invites citizens of Zagreb to be more responsible towards companion animals.
On Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3, 2005, a free transportation (by ZET busses) will be organized for citizens interested in this issue. The buses will leave at 8:30, 10, and 11:30 A.M. in front of the City council building.
We invite all interested to book bus tickets at this number: 01 4920226 or this e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org, and to collect them at the information stall of Animal Friends which will be held this Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the corner of Jurisiceva and Petrinjska ulica from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., or to collect them directly before departure.
Citizens will be acquainted with the shelter and its protégés, and in the presence of citizens who already adopted abandoned animals they will be able to share their experiences and therefore, they will be encouraged to adopt an animal. Future adopters will receive free gifts.
On Wednesday, July 6, 2005, in the net club Mama, Preradoviceva ulica 18, at 7 P.M., the Animal Friends representatives will talk about the problem of reckless acquisition of companion animals, abandoning animals and animals waiting for adoption. There will also be a projection.
On Saturday, July 9, 2005, we invite citizens of Zagreb to visit the information stall (that will be in Ban Jelacic Square from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.) where they can get advice, info material and free postcards.
With this campaign we want to invite citizens to adopt homeless animals and to publicly condemn reckless acquisition and abandoning of companion animals. We want to raise the awareness over this problem issue.
Abandoned animals are roaming for days; they are starving, thirsty and terrified. They usually die of dehidration or they are killed in traffic.
