Using a plant-based diet to fight viruses and build the immunity

| More

The benefits of eating plant-based foods are numerous. In addition to being a non-violent and ethically sound diet, it has been scientifically proven to prevent the development and occurrence of many diseases. In his book The Chinese Study, Dr. T. Colin Campbell outlines the results of more than 750 studies that found that animal protein consumption contributes to the development of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular illness, and many other diseases. A respected nutritionist and scientist, Dr. Neal Barnard, notes that nutritionists way back in the 1950s have found that plant foods contain an abundance of healthy proteins that help our immune system produce antibodies and regulate blood sugar and fat metabolism. These proteins are also for creating energy, rebuilding the body and tissue repair.

The benefits of a vegan diet for human health are immense. Not only does veganism prevent the occurrence of various diseases, but it also helps the body heal, regulate body weight, strengthens and creates strong immunity, contributes to the cure of allergies, does not create a sense of heaviness in the stomach after a meal, establishes hormonal balance, speeds up the metabolism, reduces the occurrence of acne, rejuvenates the body, increases energy and endurance levels, reduces depression, anxiety, and other mental problems, cleanses the body of toxins, positively affects sleep quality and mood, preserves brain health, and alters our view of our own health by caring for the preservation of the planet and encourages compassion for all animals - bringing us back to our authentic natural roots.

People living a vegan lifestyle, in addition to consuming a diet of exclusively plant-based foods, are generally more concerned with their own health. This concern includes more frequent and longer stay in the fresh air, the need for some form of physical activity, daily walks and stay in nature, which increases their exposure to sun and with that the absorption of Vitamin D, which has a positive effect on the prevention of influenza and relieves the symptoms of flu and cold, but also prevents the occurrence of diseases such as rickets, osteoporosis, asthma, depression, psoriasis, muscular and kidney diseases, some forms of cancer and autoimmune diseases while animal proteins block the production of vitamin D.

A balanced and varied plant-based diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds is the key to a healthy and long-lasting life. The risk of the coronavirus and other diseases is reduced because plant-based foods are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals that protect us from various diseases, while meat, eggs, and milk increase mucus production, making it difficult for white blood cells to protect the body from the harmful effects of microorganisms.

Everyday consumption of plant-based foods builds strong immunity that can easily cope with viral and bacterial infections, and at the same time creates the body’s resistance to various diseases. Cardiologist Dr. Kahn states that plant-based nutrition, in addition to improving our chances for long and healthy life, is the most powerful source of preventative medicine on the planet. It is extremely important to have a strong immune system and we will get it through consummation of as many fruits and vegetables and plants in general. It is never too late to change your diet, especially if you have already been diagnosed with a disease, because in that case, eating foods of plant origin will certainly make us feel better, more energetic, stronger, and will inevitably help us in healing. If we have the flu or a cold, a variety of vegan meals are a great source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients which will help us heal and recover faster.

It is a well-known statement by Einstein that nothing can bring as much benefit to human health and increase the chances of survival on Earth as a transition to a vegan diet. This coronavirus pandemic tells us that it's time for all of us to become vegans and consume plant-derived products daily to create strong immunity that is not susceptible to the disease while preventing the emergence of new, more potent viruses that result from breeding animals for food.
