Noble campaign messages “Family on vacation, dog on the street?!”
- A powerful message in the visuals of the poster with shelter dogs: Adoption is love!
Popular singer and television presenter Renata Konèiæ Minea took a short break from recording and performing to go on a well-deserved vacation for a few days. In relation to this, she published a video on her Instagram story in which she talks about the importance of adoption and responsible care for pets, as this year's face of Animal Friends Croatia’s campaign "Family on vacation, dog on the street?!"
“Animal Friends Croatia do this every year, they try to appeal to people not to abandon their pets on the roads, especially during the summer days, because they will not have anyone to take care of them,” said Minea, pointing out that more than 10,000 animals a year end up on the road. "These small beings who have both a heart and a soul, and who can feel, can give you much more love than those 10 or 15 days, or whatever the number of vacation days is," stressed Minea, who knows this best because she herself has a foster dog, Tobi. In the end, she said: "Don't abandon your animals, take care of them, neuter them, adopt them!" and added that nothing can replace the love we receive from our four-legged family members.
Minea recently posed with Ares and Piki, cute dogs from the Dumovec shelter in Zagreb who are looking for a home, for the visuals of a poster with a powerful message: "Adoption is love – adopt, neuter and don’t ever abandon!" Given the occasion, she said: "If you decide to have a dog or a cat, you love them for the rest of your life, not just until the first trip to the seaside. Animals are not commodities to be bought, they are beautiful, loving beings. Adopting a dog or a cat is a noble act of love through which we save a precious life and create a lifelong friendship with a four-legged family member." She called on everyone to contribute to reducing the number of abandoned animals by responsibly adopting and neutering the animals they care for.
Animal Friends Croatia association states that abandoning animals has serious consequences for the animals themselves, and brings financial expenses for local communities, which have to finance someone to take care of them: "Callous individuals who do not neuter their pets and then deal with their offspring in the most brutal ways cause huge problems. Such behaviour is shameful and that's why we call on everyone to report those who abandon animals, because abandoning animals can lead to a prison sentence of up to one or two years."
Animal Friends Croatia would like to thank everyone who volunteered to contribute to the realization of the visual "Adoption is love – adopt, neuter and don’t ever abandon!": Minea, photographer Sini¹a U¹tulica, the Omnibus studio, and the Shelter for abandoned animals of the City of Zagreb in Dumovec, which takes care of Ares and Piki.
