Veggie Challenge Ambassador features in inspirational video on how to save animals and the planet

- Try vegan products in delicious recipes

Igor Barberić, choreographer, director and a popular tv personality as well as a long-term vegan is the latest ambassador of the Veggie Challenge. In the month when most people decide to learn about plant-based food and vegan lifestyle thanks to the Veganuary global movement, Igor invites all to join the vegan challenge: “Going vegan has been one of the best decisions of my life. If you want to eat healthier or you are outraged by how animals are treated by the food industry, or the climate crisis faced by our planet, you do not need to be helpless. Join the Veggie Challenge today and make the first step for positive change!”

“I realise that going vegan can seem complicated to some people and that’s why Veganuary and the Veggie Challenge are an excellent opportunity with plenty of support. Over one month, everyone who joins the challenge will be e-mailed different information on the protection of environment, animals and health, book and film recommendations, tips, recipes, and a chance to try new tastes. It is important to make that first step,” stated Igor.

“The Veggie Challenge facilitates the transition to a compassionate diet, making it easier and more fun, and the fact that millions of others are taking part in it with you adds a special charm. Every plant-based meal makes a difference, whether it is to improve your health, stop the climate change or protect animals,” added Animal Friends Croatia.

Igor Barberić has prepared several entertaining short videos with delicious recipes and useful tips. The promotional video is already available, while Animal Friends Croatia will be posting recipes for tasty dishes during the month of January. The recipes Igor prepares are excellent for all those who want to expand their horizons and eat more diverse food, but also for those who are already familiar with plant-based ingredients.

Animal Friends Croatia remind that research links a plant-based diet with lowered risks from cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Veganuary participants often report feeling healthier and full of energy after only one month of a vegan diet. In addition, many decide to try veganism for environmental reasons: “As much as 77% of world agricultural land is used for cattle breeding, which represents a huge waste of food and natural resources. Going vegan can help significantly reduce one’s carbon footprint.”

Veganuary is an excellent opportunity for all of us to at least learn about the many benefits of the vegan diet and to jointly embark on the rescue mission of our planet, animals, and our own health. Do not think about whether you are turning vegan, just embrace more plant-based food. Be curious – alongside the well-known legumes, cereals, seeds, nuts, mushrooms, fruits and vegetables, there are many products in the market that imitate the flavour and the texture of meat, milk, and cheese,” conclude Igor Barberić and Animal Friends Croatia.

Animal Friends Croatia invite everyone to watch Igor’s inspirational promo video and the video with the recipe for lemon cream cupcakes.
